Bands & Artist Sites

Sebastian Bach
I met Sebastian up at Ace's place and he asked me to play on his record. He's a great singer who can scream and sing really softly with quality in the next breath. He's got amazing energy and commitment to rocking hard along with unbridled enthusiam for good music.

Chris Botti
Very cool dude and a great player - or is it the other way around. I played with him every Tuesday for about a year prior to his Sting gig. His playing is understated - just the right stuff and the right time.

Randy Brecker
I love the Brecker Bros records in all the incarnations they have presented.
Randy used to come by on some of those Tuesday nights and sit in. What a fiery player and very on the time - great for a drummer to play with.

Tony Cedras
An incredible musician, I know Tony from Cape Town. He can play the traditional S.African stuff and then stretch into some pretty out jazz. A master of keyboards, guitar, accordian, banjo and trumpet.

Anton Fig - Marsha's Fan Site
Marsha, a long-time fan, has assembled this fan site with stuff dating back to the NBC show. Thanks for everything, Marsha!

Ace Frehley [Space Ace Online]
Although not Ace's "official" site, this loving tribute to Ace is comprehensive and a lot of fun! Now includes an interview Anton did for Space Ace!

Ace Frehley Online
A fantastic site - a mind-boggling amount of Ace-related content!

Rick Gratton
Rick has a drumming system of linear groupings - an offshoot of Gary Chafee's method. It sounds great and he demystifies the process in his books.

Kiss [KissOnline.com]
A great band, they set new standards in the way bands marketed themselves. Their songs are classic rock songs of an era. Ace and I have been friends a long time and have made some great music together. You can read an exclusive interview Anton did with KissOnline.com here!

Richie Havens
What a voice, what a spirit - need I say more?

Al Kooper
I've listened to Al for years from Dylan to Supersessions to Blood Sweat and Tears to his producing and it is always great to play music with him. He has a distinctive style and wit.

David Leaf
David Leaf is a great author and director and was very instrumental in getting Brian Wilson to work on my CD with me. He has a cool website, LSL productions, where you can buy some fascinating DVD's like 'Brian Wilson presents SMiLE' - among others.

Will Lee
One of the best bass players period - I'm a very lucky drummer to play with this cat on a daily basis. He is solid as a rock and musical and a very nice guy too.

David Letterman
He is the undisputed king of the late night - and I'm not saying this because I'm on his show. He is without question the best.

Chris Minh Doky
Chris is an amazing and organic bass player - I first heard him with Triloc Gurtu and was fortunate to play with him for many weeks at the steady Metro gig. I'm really glad to have him on my cd.

Ivan Neville
Born into music royalty, Ivan is one incredible musician and what a voice. His new record is great so check it out.

Oz Noy
Oz is an exciting guitarist I have been playing with frequently around New York. He has his own style and sound - which is also featured on a cut of my cd, Figments.

OJOYO
Great S.African band with Morris Goldberg, Bakhiti Kumalo and Tony Cedras. It always feels good to play music from the old country - especially with these guys. New record out soon.

Richie Scarlet
A great friend and fantastic musician. We have played together for years with Ace and more recently with Sebastian. I am honored to be on his new record.

Kevin Shirley
Also from the old country, Kevin is a cool producer to work for because he knows what he wants and is decisive. He is also one powerful mixer and can make you sound real big in a hurry.

Chris Spedding
Chris is a very distinctive guitarist. He has a very spare style and sound and he plays only what is necessary. It is always a treat to listen to him play guitar.

Chip Taylor
Chip is a fantastic writer I have worked with over many years. He always brings something unique to the compositions. I am so happy to be part of his new album. His songs are amazing!

Brian Wilson
The man is a genius, Pet Sounds is the best - I'm at a loss for words. I'm really glad he is out there touring and making beautiful music.

George Wofaardt
An old friend of mine from Capetown, South Africa. He plays the bass and writes and his site is worth checking out!

Warren Zevon
One of the coolest writers on the planet. Doing his new record was great - I can't wait for it to be released [due in May 2002] All his songs are classics.

Equipment Manufacturers

Vic Firth
Vic was my classical percussion teacher at the New England Conservatory of Music and he inspired me to work hard for him.. He now also makes my signature model sticks. A great role model, dynamic tympanist, teacher and entrepeneur.
Check out the RealAudio interview Anton did on Vic's site; includes photos, bio and more!

Masterdisk
I mastered my record at Masterdisk in NYC. Leon Zervos added subtle and significant improvements to my final mixes and unified the whole project. I could not have been more pleased with the final results!

The Original Drumscreen
"The Drum Screen is used as a free standing and portable 'isolation booth'. Crafted by experienced technicians it is constructed of high tech acrylic plastics and simple connectors for ease of assembly and takedown."

Remo
"Try a Remo CS batter on my Yamaha snare [ie black dot on the underside of an Ambassador] - it sounds great. I use Coated Ambassadors on the toms on Powerstroke 3 on the bass drum. All superior and great sounding heads."

Yamaha
I've been with Yamaha since about '87. They make quality drums and I'm proud to be associated with them.

Zildjian
I have been with Zildjian since the late 70's. They make incredible cymbals - for any occasion - and they keep getting better. I am very happy to be part of their extended family.

Miscellany

Spike Recording
"Spike is a cool place to make music. Matt Chiaravalle knows his equipment inside and out, and his willingness to experiment with the artists ideas keeps me coming back."

Marsha's Black Beret Drumming Fan Site
Marsha is Anton's #1 fan and put together this loving tribute... check it out! Marsha's Radio Diary is also featured in AOL's Music Talk section!

Chip Ritter
Chip is a talented drummer who you may have seen juggling three drumsticks while playing drums on The Late Show with David Letterman as part of a Stupid Human Trick Segment in May 2004.
