When I lived with my parents, I would play drums every day, and even at University there were practise rooms that I could get into pretty regularly, but now that I am a working man living in an apartment with 3 roommates, I am only playing one or two three-hour rehearsals with a band per week. any suggestions on keeping in shape? good books or exercises for working out on a practise pad? practise pads that are pretty quiet? (so I don't annoy the crap out of my roommates!)

There are many pads that are really soft [like the moongel ones] and practicing feet excercises without pedals can build up your chops in a hurry
